Here I explore how even fairly ordinary data can be interesting and insightful given a little curiosity and some analytical expertise.

Measurements are recorded in a private Google Sheet, then retrieved and processed by a Python data pipeline that validates the data, calculates summaries and produces estimates where records are incomplete. The results are published automatically each day and presented as interactive charts built with JavaScript, Observable Plot and D3, accompanied by contextual data tables and methodology notes.

About

I’m interested in exploring data, finding patterns and making sense of complex information, especially through data visualisation and information design.

I like working on projects that involve both analytical and creative thinking, from finding effective ways to present ideas to experimenting with language, images and interactive systems.

I’m a data analyst based in Bristol, UK. Outside work, I enjoy live music, running, cycling and volunteering locally.

Combining curated lists of occupations and locations, it generates imaginary novels complete with their own visual presentation. A small creative-coding experiment in language, randomness and literary clichés.

The map brings together venue locations and information about participating artists, including descriptions, venue types and opening times. Visitors can explore the area, select individual markers and use the layer controls to explore different venue categories.
